Bord Gais Eireann, Whitegate IPP, Fort Davis Road, Whitegate, Co.Cork

Balance of Plant Piping in the “Whitegate IPP 450MW Combined Cycle Power Plant”
MSL were appointed mechanical contractor for the fabrication of 40,000 weld inches and installation of 16,000 metres of pipe-work comprising Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Chrome / Alloy, Jacketed over various piping systems incorporating Steam, Fuel Oil, Condensate, Fuel Gas and Demin Water.
The mechanical scope also provided for the erection of the BOP Equipment and responsibility for the management and co-ordination of associated sub-contracts, including, Scaffolding, Painting, NDT and Post Weld Heat Treatment. Commissioning Contract on the new ESB CCGT Project, Aghada, Co.Cork
MSL were appointed mechanical contractor for the commissioning contract at the Aghada CCGT Project. This involved the provision of Supervision and Mechanical Craft for assistance of Turbine commissioning, HRSG Maintenance, Demin Water Supply & Distribution System, Compressed Instrument Air System, Condensate Water Box Air Removal System, Main Cooling Water Pump Group, PI Main Condensate Storage System.

Combined Heat & Power Plant
MSL were appointed mechanical contractor for BOP construction of a CH&P plant. The piping scope of works consisted of the supply, fabrication, installation, supporting, testing and painting of 7,600 metres of pipework incorporating 15,000 diameter weld inches. The equipment scope included installation and commissioning of an emergency diesel generator, system head tank and fuel off-loading skid.
A total of 45,000 direct labour hours were expended over a 7 month schedule.

ESB Ireland

Contracts and Maintenance Works at Aghada and Tarbert Power Plants
MSL as main mechanical contractor were responsible for the CT 11 Plant Inspection and repair works at the ESB Aghada Power Plant. Other works involving plant upgrades were also carried out over a period at both Aghada and Tabert Power Generation Plants.

MSL are currently providing support to GE Energy on the operation of the new 450MW Combined Cycle Power Plant, at Bord Gais, Whitegate IPP, Whitegate, Co.Cork.
